About Gullsz

Hello,

I am Gullsz! An artist in Brittany who uses his camera with respect for what the landscapes of this world have to offer.
My name, Gullsz, is derived from “gull,” which means seagull in English. This is how we are perceived by these birds… Seen from the Breton sky.

A project born in Vannes, straight from the mind of a decidedly ’80s creative! In love with photography and our Breton coasts , which he flies over and sees the world on a smaller scale, like a seagull!

And why?

Disseminating iodized Breton air in the form of posters and postcards, blowing across Breizh to bring the stories immortalized in wall art all the way to your home.

I plunder and gather photographs, emotions, and stories from coastal landscapes. Sometimes I roam the seas to explore depth of field and capture the light of a natural treasure. Sensor ready, subjects framed to the millimeter, I face the wind and adjust the aperture to capture a breath of pictorial air... Once my objective is achieved, I leave quietly without leaving a trace.

I let myself be carried along by the wind on the Breton coasts, where I find inspiration for macro-photography shoots. Always wandering with my backpack filled with miniatures, I draw inspiration with my feet in the sand, photographing scenes against a backdrop of sky and sea.

In practical terms, I stage 1:87 scale HO figures (approximately 1.7 cm) in macro photography. The sky, sea, and sand serve as my backdrop for telling a story. The natural settings offered by the coasts, particularly those of Brittany, become the stage, for a fleeting moment, for these unruly wanderers.

These little characters are staged in our reality by playing with perspective, light, and depth of field to reduce the boundary between the real environment and model-making.

I invite you to gain some altitude and dive into the larger-than-life world of these extraordinary characters.

Bon voyages across the skies and seas of Brittany.
